Perfect Picnic Day
Hiking
TourS

Some days, the woods are calling
louder than the water.

The Eastern Upper Peninsula is kayaking country — but it's also home to trails that wind through beautiful forests, along exposed rock ledges, and out to coastline views that stop you in your tracks. These are full days on foot, with a guide who knows the land and carries a chef-crafted picnic lunch for mid-hike refueling.

We hike in two locations, each with its own character. Both are private,
guided, and the kind of day you feel in your legs with satisfaction.

North Country Trail The NCT winds through shady forest north of St. Ignace, with a section following the exposed Niagara Escarpment in the Hiawatha National Forest — a defining geological feature of the region. Foot traffic only. No crowds. Wildflowers, fungi, mosses, and biodiversity that rewards a curious eye. Routes range from 5–10 miles.

Drummond Island The largest freshwater island in the United States — and if you've heard of it at all, it's probably for the off-roading. Instead of whizzing through the woods, stretch your legs and enjoy Drummond at a pace without as many bugs in your teeth.

Both include a guide, a chef-crafted picnic lunch, and all the local knowledge you could want. No experience necessary — just comfortable footwear and a genuine appetite for a day well spent. Private groups only, 2–6 guests.

One practical note on weather

Most UP destinations— the falls, the ferry, the spring —you can decide the morning of. A Perfect Picnic Day is the one experience worth planning around. Book it early, stay flexible on everything else, and we'll work with you on timing if the forecast calls for it.
