Paddle Lots. Laugh Often. Eat Well. Have Fun. Just Women!

2026 Dates:

  • Tuesday, June 23 – Friday, June 26

  • Monday, August 31 – Thursday, September 3

Four days. Just women. All of it yours.

There's something that happens when a group of women gets outside together — away from the accommodating, the explaining, the performing — that's genuinely hard to replicate any other way. Conversations go to different places. Questions get asked that don't get asked otherwise. Someone admits they're nervous and instead of reassurance they get me too. Someone figures out that yes, boobs do get in the way of a proper PFD fit, and there's a guide right there who knows how to address it.

WOW! — Women on Water — is three nights and four days on Lake Huron designed entirely around spending time outside, being fed extraordinarily well, and being yourself. Guided sea kayaking every day on top-of-the-line boats. Morning yoga. Short hikes. Shoreline sunsets with a campfire. A sunrise paddle to Narnia if you're feeling ambitious. An open crafting bar for the moments in between. Conversations that actually go somewhere because there's time and space and the right company for them to do that.

Many of us grew up learning outdoors from fathers, husbands, male coaches — wonderful people who nonetheless never had to figure out how to pee in the woods in a wetsuit, or ask whether struggling with a wet exit is normal, or wonder if their body is the problem or just the equipment. At WOW!, your female guides have figured all of that out. They're here to teach, to encourage, and to make sure that whatever level you arrive at, you leave more capable and more confident than when you got here.

Come alone or bring someone. Solo travelers find their people here.

The food is serious. Chef Anne — a Les Cheneaux Culinary School graduate — feeds you like you came here to be taken care of. Because you did. Eight meals across four days, built around your dietary needs, none of them a boxed sandwich. Previous guests have described the food as one of the highlights of the trip. A partial list of what's appeared on the table: stuffed poblano peppers, all-day smoked pork shoulder, homemade gnocchi with lemon-dill sauce, garlicky shrimp scampi, crème brûlée, fresh sourdough, baked oatmeal, yogurt and homemade granola parfaits. It goes on.

The HQ is right on the water. McKay Bay is yours for the duration — WOW! participants are the only guests. Accommodations range from private cabin to shared bunkhouse. Sheets, towels, washer and dryer included. You wake up, walk outside, and the water is right there.

All levels welcome. All women welcome. Spots are limited and they go.

We look forward to you joining our Sisterhood of the Traveling Wetsuit.
