Kayak and Paddle Board Sales

We are located just a short hop, skip, and jump from Lake Huron and would love to schedule an equipment demo for you. As a guided-trip operator, we have most sizes and models of the entire plastic P&H line-up in stock. This allows you to determine what hull size fits you best and which boat model will match your paddling goals. So if you're looking to paddle a Virgo LV/MV/HV, Scorpio LV/MV/HV, Delphin 150/155, or Leo HV — we're ready to get you on the water. Demos are not required but a really unique feature available by purchasing through Woods & Waters during our operating season — we're used to and ready to move boats for tours.

And with P&H Sea Kayaks, many people don't know that they make a "sister" boat in composite Kevlar/Diolen lay-ups. For example, if you've ever wondered how a Ceres paddled, or what size hull you'd need, testing out a Scorpio is a wonderful way to dial in your fit in a boat designed to very similar specs and paddling conditions. Then work with us to place that special order custom boat.

You can even pre-order in the early fall for spring deliveries with a 50% deposit. New retail boats may also be available for immediate purchase (buy early!) and we also sell used boats at the end of each paddling season (including our recreational and sit-on-top kayaks from Wilderness Systems). This is true with Glide paddle boards as well. Used boats may be available throughout the year — sometimes even in the Grand Rapids, MI area between late October through early May. How to demo one, or even multiple boats?

  • Come on a free demo day! 2024 dates (weather permitting): Sunday, May 26, Sunday, June 30, and Sunday, August 4 between 9:00 am and 12:00 pm

  • Schedule a guided demo: $130 for one person and up to a 2-hour time block; $100 per person (2–5 people)— we will apply 50% of the demo fee if you purchase or order a boat from us that operating season! Staff will be actively working with you to understand boat features and review your skills as needed during the guided demo. 

  • Rent: head out on your own if you have, or have learned, the skills to safely do so (2- or 4-hour, full or multi-day). We will put 50% of your rental fee toward your purchase.

Bikes

We take a similar approach with bikes by having several styles of Rocky Mountain bikes in various frame sizes available — fat tire, gravel, and all-around adventure bikes in our rental fleet (we often have youth bikes available too). We're happy to help you test ride right around our location, set-up a longer rental, or even special order (and we can also assemble your bike!). The models that are part of our regular rental fleet include Rocky Mountain Solo gravel bike (XS–XL), Rocky Mountain Blizzard (S–XL), and Rocky Mountain Soul all-around adventure (XS–L). 

We can order other bikes, including e-bikes and bikes for kids! Like with boats, we will apply 50% of a rental fee toward the purchase of a bike.

Outdoor Gear

Besides equipment to accompany paddling and bicycling, like Werner paddles, NRS, Astral Designs, Kokatat, WTB, and Bern — Woods & Waters also maintains a well-curated mix of the 10 essentials for either a walk in the woods, bike ride, camping trip, or paddle from sunscreen to hiking poles to wetsuits.
