Two-Night Workshops
-
Saturday, June 24 – Monday, June 26, 2023
- Saturday, August 26 – Monday, August 28, 2023
Three-Night Workshops
- Tuesday, June 27 – Friday, June 30, 2023
- Tuesday, August 29 – Friday, September 1, 2023
The 2-night options start on a Saturday afternoon — purposely giving you time to drive north Saturday morning when northbound traffic is less hectic — and then only taking a Monday off to drive home (also when southbound traffic is lighter). The 3-night workshops, although mid-week, are a perfect queue up to the upcoming "big" holiday weekends but don't interrupt any of your holiday plans (and also take advantage of less busy traffic periods).
Both options will spend lots of time on the water, but there is planned downtime too. We will have an open crafting bar for trying your hand at some fun craft ideas, campfires and sunsets, morning yoga, a smartphone photography mini-workshop, a sunrise paddle, and even a full moon paddle during the 3-day workshop. We will also be enjoying fresh meals created by a local female chef who graduated from the Les Cheneaux Culinary School too. We promise this is more than a boxed sandwich because good food both feeds and fuels our souls (and if you have dietary restrictions, talk to us about accommodations)!
This workshop is suited to all levels of paddlers because it's the willingness to play together, learn together, and the camaraderie among female outdoor enthusiasts that will ultimately make these workshops special. During these workshops, we are there for one another to grow and have fun regardless of where we are on our outdoor journeys. Your lead guides love teaching, helping people gain confidence, and even giving opportunities for others to hone a skill.
There are a limited number of cabins and beds available at the workshop’s home-base nestled on McKay Bay just east of Cedarville — book quickly to secure your on-site lodging! As an FYI, short-stay lodging is often difficult to find "up north" in the summer which is why we worked to create this lodging option.
What’s Included:
- Chef-Curated Meals (thats either 6 or 9 meals!)
- P&H & Current Designs Sea Kayaks (fleet is 2021 or newer) — solo and tandem kayaks!
- Life Jackets, Wetsuits, and Paddles
- 2 Personable and ACA-Trained Guides (also local experts)
Workshops capped at just 12 participants to deliver a small-group experience. 6 participant per workshop minimum. Participants wanting to utilize their own kayak, upon approval of the boat's suitability, will be given either a $75 (2-night) or $100 (3-night) workshop discount.
