Star Gazing and Star Lore

  • Multiple sessions available from 21 Jul 2023 to 10 Aug 2023

Joining you on these special paddles will be star lore historian and author Mary Stewart Adams. You might have listened to her segments on Interlochen Public Radio, or enjoyed a lecture at other events in Northern Michigan (such as through Little Traverse Conservancy or Headlands International Dark Sky Park).

  • Her stories will keep you mesmermerized even if the night sky isn't perfectly cooperative.
  • Tandem sea kayaks required
  • Quiet bays and solar lanterns for visibility
  • Recommended for teens and older 
  • Rain date Saturday, July 22
  • 8/10/23 date is near the peak of the Perseid meteor shower 
  • Trips will run even if there is some cloud cover
